Snow Patrol - A Hundred Million Suns (Advance) - 2008

Snow_Patrol-A_Hundred_Million_Suns-(Advance)-2008-RVP![]() Artist : Snow Patrol Album : A Hundred Million Suns Bitrate : VBR kbps Label : Geffen Records Year : 2008 Genre : Alternative Rip date : Oct-21-2008 Store date : Oct-28-2008 Size : 83,1 MB Track List: -------- 01 - If There's A Rocket Tie Me To It 04:20 02 - Crack The Shutters 03:21 03 - Take Back The City 04:40 04 - Lifeboats 04:42 05 - The Golden Floor 03:20 06 - Please Just Take These Photos From My Hands 04:26 07 - Set Down Your Glass 03:44 08 - The Planets Bend Between Us 04:18 09 - Engines 05:10 10 - Disaster Button 03:58 11 - The Lightning Strike 16:18 -------- 58:17 min Release Notes: Featuring a fusion of several alternative stylistic touchstones, Snow Patrol's compositions combine songwriting aptitude with pop/rock's sharpest strains. Although originally from Northern Ireland, vocalist/guitarist Gary Lightbody and bassist/keyboardist Mark McClelland first teamed up in 1994 at the University of Dundee, having relocated to Scotland to study at the esteemed college. The duo began composing music under several different band names, including "Shrug" and "Polar Bear," before adopting the Snow Patrol moniker and enlisting Jonny Quinn to play drums in 1997. They signed with the U.K.'s Jeepster label in 1998 and released their debut album, Songs for Polar Bears, in August of that same year. The record was a large success across the U.K., where the bandmates also gained a large fan base for their live show. The British trio graduated school and decided to relocate from Dundee to Glasgow in late 2000. Their second full-length, When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up, was released in April 2001. Quickly thereafter, guitarist Nathan Connolly was added to the group, and Snow Patrol found themselves a deal with Polydor. Producer Chris Lord-Alge signed on for the release of Final Straw, which appeared stateside in April 2004. With the success of singles such as "Chocolate," "Run," and "Spitting Games," Final Straw sold two million copies in their native U.K. and became the 26th most popular British album of that year. Despite their growing success, founding member Mark McClelland left the band in March 2005, effectively downgrading Snow Patrol to a trio comprising Lightbody, Quinn, and Connolly. Shortly thereafter, however, former Terra Diablo bass player Paul Wilson and touring keyboardist Tom Simpson were permanantly added to the band. An opening slot on the European leg of U2's "Vertigo Tour" followed in summer 2005, and Snow Patrol's fourth album, the slickly commercial Eyes Open, arrived in May 2006. That fall, with a successful run through North America under their belt and the mainstream appeal of "Chasing Cars" maintaining the band's presence on American radio, Eyes Open was certified gold in the United States. Snow Patrol also became the first U.K. rock act in 13 years to break into the Top 5 of the Billboard singles charts.

The sonig label now presents a CD (dedicated to Jelly Roll Morton) of this event. New Thing at Novara, despite having been constructed in a one-week frenzy in a hotel room in Novara during the festival, incorporating recordings of each of the concerts immediately after they took place, is simultaneously two things: a richly representative dоcument of the singular breadth of VERT's music, at once groovy, noisy, tender, beguiling and slyly humourous; and a respectful testimony to the huge variety of musicians who performed at the Festival, without whose support this CD would not have been possible: Mina Agossi, Nik Baertsch's Ronin, Di Terra Trio, Louis Moholo & Stan Tracey, Fabrizio Ottaviucci, Matthew Shipp & Guillermo E. Brown, Gianluigi Trovesi, David S. Ware, The World Saxophone Quartet. http://www.sonig.de/

Oh Howard,You Crack Me Up 3:40 20:57 Release Notes Bands from rural areas have always thrown about the saying There is nothing to do where we are, so we started this band. This has been heard a thousand times before, by anyone within the music industry. But I guarantee not one of those bands has experienced life in Norfolk. For the kids growing up there, the vast flat lands of the East coast do not provide much hope nor inspiration. Deaf Havana, initially when meeting in early 2006, as teenagers, wanted to experience more from their lives than anyone who had surrounded them whilst growing up, so started making music that has taken them elsewhere in the country and the world. After a few EPs and some rather large support bills (Deftones, Enter Shikari, Flood Of Red, You Me At Six, We Are The Ocean) Deaf Havana decided that music could be so much more exciting and energetic. So they sat down and wrote the new EP Its Called The Easy Life. Six songs of pure energetic fun, Recorded with Johnny from Devil Sold His Soul, and Mixed/Mastered by Matt OGrady (Architects, You Me At Six). The EP is due for release on the 6th October through Wolf At Your Door Records. Not having a music scene to grow up within and to follow or having a trend to become part of, the DH boys made a mix of everything they wanted. With a love of rock riffs mixed with a dual vocal attack, in the vein of Glassjaw, mixed with Jeff Buckley, including enough Pop choruses to make 13 year old McFly fans blush. With over 100 shows in the past year, Deaf Havana are quickly becoming one of the most talked about bands on the underground rock scene.

Funeral For A Friend - Memory And Humanity - 2008 (Scene)
9:40 AM
I haven't really listened to the other release that was suppose to be 320, so I can't say, "Why would you want the scene release?"...but if it is a true 320 then why would you want it? If you were waiting for it, here it is...a lower quality version, but sure to be properly tagged, labeled, etc. Funeral_For_A_Friend-Memory_And_Humanity-2008-DV8 ![]() Artist: Funeral For A Friend` Title: Memory And Humanity Label: Join Us Genre: Rock Bitrate: 221kbit av. This release sees them marrying the more overtly stadium rock-inspired style they explored on the last album with the brutal breakdowns of yore, whilst retaining their killer knack for melody. The result is a cohesive, well-structured set which is perhaps their most rounded to date. Includes the single 'Waterfront Dance Club'.

Haste The Day - Dreamer - 2008

Haste_The_Day-Dreamer-2008-RTB ![]() ARTIST: Haste the Day TITLE: Dreamer LABEL: Solid State Records GENRE: Hardcore BITRATE: 220kbps avg PLAYTIME: 0h 38m total RELEASE DATE: 2008-10-14 RIP DATE: 2008-10-09 Track List ---------- 1. 68 3:26 2. Mad Man 3:33 3. Haunting 4:01 4. Resolve 2:54 5. An Adult Tree 5:10 6. Babylon 3:29 7. Invoke Reform 3:03 8. Sons of the Fallen Nation 3:20 9. Labyrinth 2:35 10. Porcelain 3:29 11. Autumn 3:02 Release Notes: After the departure of Jimmy Ryan, many questioned if Haste The Day could continue being successful without with the vocals that spawned the hit album When Everything Falls as well as their first two efforts. Stephen Keech took the reins and put up an impressive show for their 2007 album Pressure The Hinges, and while it stood as a settling foundation for the band, there was room for improvement. They have done exactly that with their new record Dreamer. Being excited to check out their latest outing, I was quick to drop everything and drop my opinion on it. Much like the love I have for many of the melodic hardcore albums that have dropped recently, such as Destroy The Runner, August Burns Red, Misery Signals, and Atreyu (more hard rock this time around), Haste The Day has polished their guitar work, honed their vocals and put forth a generally more impressive effort then albums before it. With striking speed and a dedicated balance of charging, swift riffs as well as vocals which shift from booming shouts and growls to soft serenades and smooth harmonies. And while they take cues from other successful hardcore formulas, HTD also steps off the beaten path with tracks like Labyrinth and Autumn(rerecorded) that will have you thinking about post-Vhiessu-like Thrice. And I think that is why this record is so amazing. It lays down a solid platform of the norm that features catchy melodic guitars, quick breakdowns and thunderous vocals, but then it stretches out to encompass new styles where complex musical progression is the goal. One thing Dreamer doesnt do is let you down. It sprints headfirst with intricate guitars, fierce shouts and a refined/matured sound that not only lets your subconscious ponder the inner workings of it, but also lets your ears enjoy the abundance of infectious and melodic hardcore present here. Haste The Day will be able to crush the questions on whether the band can be successful without JR because this is one of the best records this year. You will listen to it so much, you might end up dreaming about it. Pernell October 02 2008

After recruiting ex-Scooby Dont guitarist Bill Morrisette, Dillinger Four resurfaced in 1996 with the EP The Kids Are All Dead; a split single with fellow Twin Cities band the Strike followed a year later, as did a series of compilation appearances. This Shit is Genius, a collection of songs taken from compilations and various other releases, came out in 1999 on No Idea. Tour dates around the world followed, including a stint in Japan for the first time, traveling with Green Day. Their third full-length release, Situationist Comedy, was released in the summer of 2002 on Fat Wreck. First Avenue Live, recorded on December 16, 2001, at First Avenue in Minneapolis, was issued on LSD Records in February 2005. The end of the year found the guys with a slot at Gainesvilles fourth annual The Fest, playing alongside bands like Ted Leo, Against Me, Bouncing Souls, and a reunited Radon. Funk also co-owns the popular Minneapolis bar and music venue, the Triple Rock Social Club.

They became an overnight hit with their rock/screamo cover of Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat", which attracted over 50,000 plays per day on MySpace, then they caught the attention of Epitaph label owner Brett Gurewitz. Loquat - Secrets Of The Sea - 2008

Spiral Stairs Or Escalators ( 4:30) Release Notes: Vote for Loquat on the Deli SF's Artist of the Month Poll: www.thedelimagazine.com/sf/vote.php Loquat live review @ Great American Music Hall with Tilly and the Wall, 8/08/2008; www.thetripwire.com San Francisco band Loquat took stage before Tilly, and it was one of those things where you totally forget you love a band until you see them again and are reminded why they are so close to your heart. I'm an asshole for forgetting Kylee Swenson has one of the prettiest and sultriest voices live; she's capable of not only purring into your ear for build-up but also for belting out to really drive home her range. The band is currently testing out the waters for new full-length Secrets of the Sea that will drop in October; if tracks like "Harder Hit" are any indication of the fuzzed out layered guitar goodness I witnessed live, I am thoroughly excited to spin that record in my beat-up boom box Lots of bands mix electronic and acoustic instruments, but few pull it off with the grace or even the shimmering melodies exhibited by this San Francisco group fronted by Kylee Swenson. San Francisco Chronicle The debut full-length from this San Francisco five-piece is a masterful work of female-fronted electronic pop that seems utterly unconcerned with trend.... It s Yours to Keep is the kind of album that makes the world around you slow down. Under the Radar In a genre marred by overproduction and, sometimes, a lack of imagination Loquat is not only wonderfully organic but refreshingly inventive: It s Yours to Keep could just become the soundtrack to your summer. Nylon Swenson s voice soars like Sarah McLachlan, but her lyrics cut like Cat Power. URB

Adventure - Adventure - 2008
Friday, October 03, 2008, 6:30 PM
Adventure-Adventure-2008-r35![]() ARTIST : Adventure TITLE : Adventure LABEL : Carpark Records GENRE : Electronic BITRATE : LAME v3.97 VBR V2 SOURCE : CD SIZE : 50.4 MB STORE DATE : 2008-?? Track List ---------- 01. Loredo [3:02] 02. Poison Diamonds [3:46] 03. Civilization [2:59] 04. Hyper Glow [2:43] 05. Travel Kid [2:42] 06. Iron Stallion [3:01] 07. Battle Cat [4:31] 08. Wild Wild Ride [2:49] 09. Ultra Zone [3:22] 10. Crypt Castle Cult [3:14] 11. Jurassic Park City [5:08] Adventure is 24 year-old North Carolina native and recent Baltimore transplant Benny Boeldt. His ultra-melodic synth compositions pull from his earliest exposure to the 8-bit soundtracks of the Sega Genesis video game catalog. But it's not just retro video game music. Mix in the kitschy Moogy sound of Hot Butter's "Popcorn", the saturated disco-theatrics of late seventies electro-pop acts like Sparks and Yellow Magic Orchestra, and a penchant for Eastern European diminished scales and you've come pretty close to Adventure's accelerated baroque sound. Adventure is an advanced, dance-floor friendly take on the music of early video gaming. Let the epic quest for the master sword begin!

Senses Fail - Life Is Not A Waiting Room - 2008
2:35 PM
Senses Fail is one of the bands I still buy everything from. I will be buying this and you should to if you like it. There has been a pretty crappy bootleg going around, but here's some quality. Senses_Fail-Life_Is_Not_A_Waiting_Room-2008-FNT ![]() Artist: Senses Fail Album: Life Is Not A Waiting Room Label: Vagrant Records Playtime: 43:59 min Genre: Rock URL: www.myspace.com/sensesfail Rip date: 2008-10-03 Street date: 2008-10-07 Size: 82.35 MB Type: Normal Quality: VBR kbps / 4410kHz / Joint Stereo Track List 01. Fireworks At Dawn ( 2:09) 02. Lungs Like Gallows ( 3:21) 03. Garden State ( 3:38) 04. Family Tradition ( 3:34) 05. Wolves at the Door ( 3:27) 06. Hair of the Dog ( 3:50) 07. Four Years ( 4:15) 08. Ali For Cody ( 4:02) 09. Yellow Angels ( 3:42) 10. Chandelier ( 3:40) 11. Map The Streets ( 3:27) 12. Blackout ( 4:54) Release Notes Say what you will about Senses Fail, but the band sure knows what their fans like. "Life Is Not A Waiting Room" is the third album from the New Jersey-based group, and they sure as hell deliver again. Back are the hard-driving, crunchy riffs layered with group harmonies and instantly hum-able choruses. Back are the mix of mid-tempo pop hits and the heavy, anthemic headbangers. Back are the songs that have sold the band over 600,000 albums of their first two full-lengths albums.

The Rosebuds - Life Like - 2008
9:43 AM
The_Rosebuds-Life_Like-2008-RTB![]() ARTIST: The Rosebuds TITLE: Life Like LABEL: Merge GENRE: Rock BITRATE: 207kbps avg PLAYTIME: 0h 33m total RELEASE DATE: 2008-10-07 RIP DATE: 2008-10-01 Track List ---------- 1. Life Like 3:14 2. Cape Fear 2:27 3. Border Guards 3:38 4. Bow To The Middle 2:30 5. Nice Fox 3:28 6. Another Way In 3:10 7. Concordia Military Club 5:01 8. Hello Darlin 2:14 9. Black Hole 3:49 10. In The Backyard 3:51 Release Notes: To the seventeenth-century poet Robert Herrick, rosebuds were a symbol of the fleeting pleasures of youth. Orson Welles made Rosebud the dying word of Charles Foster Kane, again a symbol of the tenacity of youthful memory. Kelly and Ivan - The Rosebuds - make music that embodies that certain spirityouthful, but complex. Not at all fairytale, but magical. Not realistic, but real. Perhaps the way youth actually is. The Rosebuds defy categorization with each new release, like creatures in a myth shifting shape to avoid capture; slippery catfish in a North Carolina river. Mention The Smiths and Ivan will turn his Morrissey croon into a gruff Greg Dulli growl or splash it against some reverb-laden surf guitar. Call them Southern Gothic and theyll release a dance record. They do not spend time categorizing themselves, each record is simply evidence of new curiosity. On their newest album, Life Like, The Rosebuds return to more acoustic territory, barely a year after releasing the synth-heavy dance pop of 2007s Night of the Furies. Crisp says that perhaps they needed to exorcise the anger and disillusion caused by a hard year of terrifying storms, and endless frustration over an ineffectual political state (that provided the need for the Furies metaphor in their songs) before they could move on to explore stories more closely related to their everyday life. Having just finished the first tour for Night of the Furies, Ivan and Kelly began working on other creative projects in an attempt to take a break from music before going back out on tour. However, they soon found themselves making songs to entertain themselves and realized they had a whole record. So they ditched plans for a second tour and called in their friends (including Portastatics Matthew McCaughan, Bon Ivers Justin Vernon, and Ashley Stoves Jim Brantley) and put the finishing touches on Life Like. The album retains the bands signature sinister breeziness, particularly on the title track and Cape Fear, one of two songs on the album that juxtapose subdued handclaps with compellingly dark lyrics. Again, Ivan and Kelly share vocal duties throughout the album, with Kelly singing Another Way In, and the lush pastoral Black Hole. On the title track, Ivan is hunted, singing about escape, ultimately describing himself as a beast trapped in taxidermy, over churning, relentless bass. In Nice Fox, his warnings are too late to save the dead fox he finds trapped under a collapsed, rotten barn, while Kelly leads the blithe refrain, it dont mean nothing at all. Catchy melodies house complex lyrical content, but always with the unmistakable nuanced-pop identity of The Rosebuds. The Rosebuds have released four full-length albums, two 7-inches, an EP, and a digital-only album of remixes. www.therosebuds.com www.myspace.com/therosebuds
